What does Leon Environmental Services do?
We are asbestos and lead-based paint consultants. We perform bulk sampling and surveys, air monitoring, lead-based paint testing, abatement project monitoring, HEPA equipment testing, and we write abatement specifications, scopes of work, and work plans.
Are you certified?
Yes. Both principals are State of California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Certified Asbestos Consultants — Richard “Danny” Leon, CAC #04-3708, and Tommy Leon, CAC #05-3882 — and both are State of California Department of Public Health Lead-Based Paint Inspector/Assessors and Supervisors. Do you handle asbestos surveys for demolition and renovation?
Yes. We perform asbestos bulk sampling and surveys for AHERA, NESHAP, and EPA demolition and renovation projects.
What analysis methods do you use for asbestos air sampling?
Air samples are analyzed by PCM or TEM. Tommy has completed the NIOSH 582 class, so we can also analyze PCM air samples on site rather than waiting on an outside lab.
How is lead-based paint tested?
We perform lead-based paint hazard assessments and inspections by XRF, and we collect air, soil, dust wipe, and paint chip samples that are analyzed by Flame AA.
What is DOP testing?
DOP testing is quality-control testing of the HEPA air filtration machines and vacuums used during abatement, to confirm the filters and units are performing as required before they are relied on for containment.
Can you monitor an abatement contractor’s work?
Yes. We provide third-party asbestos and lead-based paint abatement project monitoring, and we can write generic or site-specific abatement specifications, scopes of work, and work plans for the project.
